Pastor MCCracken's Bio
Background:
My parents are Robert and Mary Lynn McCracken. Dad is a retired RPCNA pastor. He and Mom live in Columbus , IN , where my brother Andy serves as pastor. I would love to emulate my Dad and Mom's heart for evangelism and love for people. I was born in Syracuse , NY , spent my elementary education years in Marion , IA , and spent my High School years in Walton , NY .
Education:
BA Biblical Studies – Geneva College (grad. 1981)
MDIV – Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary (grad. 1988)
Work and ministry experience:
1982-85 Student Recruiter for Geneva College
1985-88 (during Seminary) Youth Group leader for North Hills Reformed Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, PA.
Evangelism Explosion class leader.
1988-present Pastor of First Reformed Presbyterian Church, Fresno, CA
1990-93 Volunteer Counselor for New Creation Ministries. This involved weekly meetings with Christian men who were striving to rid their lives of homosexual sins.
1995-present Pacific Coast Presbytery representative to the RPCNA Home Mission Board.
Planner and participant in leadership for summer family camps of the Pacific Coast Presbytery of the RPCNA
Other interests: My greatest interest is in music, with a particular love for a capella harmonies. I'm sort of a "wanna-be" musician, with a wistful longing to engage in aspects for which I have no technical training!
Published book "God's Message to You". The goal of this study is to show the Gospel message across the whole of Scripture’s span through a six-week overview sequence.
